The Kings got outrebounded 55-40 and outscored 47-37 in the second half and that’s why they lost last night.  Kevin Martin led the way for the Kings with 23 points and 5 rebounds.  Mike Bibby also had an outstanding game with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

The Kings fell behind 57-39 at the half and were pretty much done at that point.  Can’t blame Ron Artest for the loss as he scored 33 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 7 assists.  John Salmons had a solid game off of the bench with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists.

The Kings were very disappointing in the first half of the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 21 February 2007 at 10:19 am

The Kings are only 22-29 this season but they still are only 2.5 games behind the Timberwolves for the #8 spot in the Western Conference.  So the Kings have a very interesting decision to make before tomorrow’s NBA trade deadline….do they keep the current bunch of players and try to make a run or do they start over and dump some older players tomorrow?  It will be interesting to see which way the Kings go, but it seems as if they are leaning towards starting over as Mike Bibby and Ron Artest’s names have been coming up a lot in trade rumors.  The one bright spot for the Kings this season has been the rapid improvement of Kevin Martin who looks like a big building block for the future.
