Kings need to pick up the pace

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 6 February 2007 at 2:41 pm

The Kings have been a big disappointment so far this season as they have a 20-26 record on the season.  Amazingly, the Kings are only 3 games behind the Denver Nuggets for the #8 spot in the Western Conference.  How the Kings play the next two weeks will determine if they keep the team together and try to make a run or if they will part their team out at the trade deadline and look towards the future.  The rise of Kevin Martin to stardom is the real reason why this hasn’t been a lost season for the Kings.

Kings’ rookies not getting much playing time

Blogged under Front Page,Rookie Report by Nothing but Net on Saturday 3 February 2007 at 11:27 pm

The Kings haven’t been able to get their rookies much playing time.  Shooting guard Quincy Douby plays the same position as Kevin Martin so he’s out of luck.  Douby has played in 26 games and he’s averaging 6.9 minutes, 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.3 assists.  He’s only shooting 39.7% from the floor.

Forward/Center Justin Williams is caught in a numbers game in Sacramento as the Kings have a lot of veteran frontcourt players.  Williams has played in 5 games and is averaging 2.8 points and 3.8 rebounds.
