Ron Artest suspended by the NBA

Blogged under Bloglockers, Big Kings News, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 23 July 2007 at 8:44 am

Ron Artest has been suspended for the first 7 games of the 2007-08 NBA season because of his off the court conduct.  This will hurt the Kings as they have actively been trying to trade him but a new team might not want to acquire a player who will miss 7 games and is a reputed “thug type” both on and off the court.  No one can deny that Artest is a good basketball player.  He played in 70 games (65 starts) and he averaged 37.7 minutes, 18.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game last season for the Kings.  He shot 44% from the floor, 35.8% from three point range and 74% from the free throw line.

The Sacramento Kings sign Mikki Moore

Blogged under Comings & Goings, Bloglockers, Big Kings News, Front Page by alleyoop on Saturday 21 July 2007 at 3:16 pm

The Kings have signed Mikki Moore to probably start at power forward next season.  Mikki Moore had by far the best season of his NBA career last year for the Nets.  Moore played in 79 games (55 starts) and he averaged 9.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.  Moore shot an amazing 60.9% from the floor and 68.1% from the free throw line.  Moore will add something that seemed to be missing from the Kings and that is heart and desire as he goes 110% at all times.

Moore has played in 382 games (62 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 16.1 minutes, 5.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.  He has shot 54% from the floor and 74.1% from the free throw line over his NBA career.
