Sacramento Kings 100, Memphis Grizzlies 98

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by admin on Thursday 30 December 2010 at 10:39 pm

O.J. Mayo of the Grizzlies hit a shot to put the Grizzlies up 98-97 with 1.5 seconds left in the ball game last night.  It was looking like another tough loss for the Kings.  But, Tyreke Evans hit a miracle shot from about 55-feet out to give the Kings a sterling win at home.  Beno Udrih led the way for the Kings last night with 24 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists.  Tyreke Evans finished up with 21 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals and of course the game winning shot!  DeMarcus Cousins broke out of Paul Westphal’s Dog House last night as he finished up with 21 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 37 minutes off the bench.  The Kings are now 6-23 on the year.

Samuel Dalembert is back in the saddle for the Sacramento Kings

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Wednesday 29 December 2010 at 1:22 am

Due to DeMarcus Cousins acting like a fool, 29-year old center Samuel Dalembert is back in the starting lineup.  In his last two games, Dalembert is averaging 30.5 minutes, 9.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots per game.  Dalembert has now played in 25 games (13 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 20.5 minutes, 4.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 1.8 blocked shots per game.  Dalembert can be a force on D and on the boards and the Kings need him to become that as they are more than a tad soft as a team.

Los Angeles Clippers 100, Sacramento Kings 99

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by admin on Tuesday 28 December 2010 at 3:28 pm

The Kings were outrebounded 48-34 last night and it killed them in the end.  Tyreke Evans had probably his best game of the year as he led the way for the Kings with 32 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 blocked shot.  Omri Casspi (16 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 23 minutes on the floor) and Beno Udrih (14 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot) also had decent games for the Kings.  Carl Landry (13 points) and Francisco Garcia (12 points) also pitched in offensively for the Kings last night.  The Kings are now 5-23 on the season.

Milwaukee Bucks 84, Sacramento Kings 79

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by admin on Friday 24 December 2010 at 6:17 am

The Kings outrebounded the Bucks 57-37 but they still lost because they only shot 36.5% from the floor.  Beno Udrih led the way for the Kings in this game with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.  Samuel Dalembert got the start at center and he was solid with 13 points, 12 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots.  Carl Landry pitched in with 9 points and 12 rebounds in 35 minutes in this game.  The Kings are now 5-22 on the year.

The rookies are looking good so far for the Sacramento Kings

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by admin on Thursday 23 December 2010 at 3:59 am

The Kings have not had a lot to smile about this year, but the rookies are looking solid.  20-year old C/PF DeMarcus Cousins is a talented player but he really needs to grow up.  His antics both on and off of the court are already getting him near Paul Westphal’s Dog House.  Cousins has played in 26 games (14 starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 25.2 minutes, 11.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.  Cousins is only shooting 41.6% from the floor and 66% from the free throw line this year and that needs to improve.  Cousins needs to grow up soon so that he doesn’t find himself on the bench.  27-year old point guard Pooh Jeter paid his dues in the D-League before getting his big chance this year with the Kings.  Jeter has played in 14 games (0 starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 13.0 minutes, 4.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.  Jeter has forced himself into the rotation for the Kings.  21-year old center Hassan Whiteside is learning his craft in the D-League.  He has only played in 1 game for the Kings this year and he played two scoreless minutes and he made 2 fouls.

Golden State Warriors 117, Sacramento Kings 109 in O.T.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by admin on Wednesday 22 December 2010 at 9:51 pm

The Kings were outscored 47-25 in the 4th quarter & O.T. which explains the collapse in this game last night!  Beno Udrih was on fire last night as he finished up with 34 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Carl Landry also stuffed the stat sheet for the Kings last night with 22 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Tyreke Evans only shot 4 of 18 from the floor and he turned the ball over 5 times but he still finished up with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals.  Donte Greene pitched in with 10 points and 2 rebounds in 23 minutes.  The Kings are now 5-21 on the year.

Houston Rockets 102, Sacramento Kings 93

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by admin on Tuesday 21 December 2010 at 3:59 am

The Kings were outscored 23-12 in the 4th quarter last night and that did them in.  It’s amazing to me that the Kings were in this game because they were outrebounded 50-38 and they only shot 38.5% from the floor.  DeMarcus Cousins led the way for the Kings in this game with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist.  Tyreke Evans only shot 6 of 21 from the floor but he still finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.  Francisco Garcia pitched in with 14 points and 1 rebound in 27 minutes off the bench.  The Kings are now 5-20 on the year.

The Sacramento Kings lose Jason Thompson for a while

Blogged under Big Kings News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by admin on Sunday 19 December 2010 at 4:07 am

The Kings will be without power forward Jason Thompson for the next three games due to a finger injury that required several stitches.  Thompson has played in 23 games (11 starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 20.3 minutes, 7.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.  Carl Landry will get his starting job back until Thompson is ready to return to action.  Landry has played in 24 games (14 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 26.9 minutes, 11.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.  Landry will likely do a good job while Thompson is out of action but I don’t think he will get his starting job back from him.

Oklahoma City Thunder 102, Sacramento Kings 87

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by admin on Saturday 18 December 2010 at 5:22 am

The Kings were just outmanned tonight in Oklahoma City.  Tyreke Evans led the way for the Kings in this game with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal.  DeMarcus Cousins had a huge game for the Kings tonight with 19 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Beno Udrih pitched in with 19 points and 1 rebound in this game.  The Kings are now 5-19 on the year.

New Orleans Hornets 94, Sacramento Kings 91

What a meltdown the Kings had in the second half last night.  The Kings were winning this game 57-41 at the half and they built up a 23-point lead at one point in the game but they still lost!  They were outscored 53-34 in the second half by the Hornets as the Kings forgot how to play offense and defense in the second half.  Tyreke Evans got a surprise start and he played 43 minutes, leading the way for the Kings with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 steal.  Beno Udrih was solid at the point for the Kings last night with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.  DeMarcus Cousins (13 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists) and Carl Landry (13 points and 6 rebounds in 21 minutes) also pitched in for the Kings last night.  The Kings are now 5-18 on the year.
