The Kings shot 53.3% from the floor last night and they outrebounded the Suns 50-39, but it wasn’t until they outscored them 31-20 in the 4th quarter that they finally put them away.  Marcus Thornton led the way for the Kings last night with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists.  Beno Udrih (19 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal), Donte’ Greene (18 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot) and DeMarcus Cousins (17 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot) also had solid games for the Kings last night.  Jason Thompson (14 points and 10 rebounds) and Tyreke Evans (11 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists) also pitched in for the Kings last night.  The Kings are now 21-52 on the year.

Sacramento Kings 114, Philadelphia 76ers 111 in O.T.

The Kings outrebounded the Sixers 58-36 last night and they outscored them 14-11 in O.T. to down them last night.  Marcus Thornton led the way for the Kings last night with 32 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.  Jason Thompson (15 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 blocked shot in 26 minutes) and Samuel Dalembert (13 points, 19 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal) did the dirty work inside for the Kings last night.  DeMarcus Cousins (12 points), Francisco Garcia (11 points), Beno Udrih (11 points) and Tyreke Evans (10 points) also pitched in for the Kings last night.  The Kings have improved to 20-52 on the year.

Samuel Dalembert has been outstanding in March for the Sacramento Kings

Veteran center Samuel Dalembert has been outstanding this month for the Kings.  He has played in 13 games so far in March and he is averaging 30.1 minutes, 12.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.6 blocked shots per game.  He has now played in 69 games (35 starts) overall this year for the Kings and he is averaging 23.2 minutes, 7.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game.  Hindsight is always 20/20, but the Kings probably should have sticked to the plan and starting Dalembert all year long.

Shooting guard Marcus Thornton has been outstanding since coming over in the Carl Landry deal with the Hornets.  Thornton has played in 16 games (12 starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 36.4 minutes, 21.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.9 steals per game.  He is shooting 46.6% from the floor, 41.5% from three point range and he is hitting 81% from the free throw line for the Kings as he has been outstanding.  The Kings essentially stole Marcus Thornton from the Hornets as they didn’t really want Carl Landry anymore.

The Kings held the Pacers to 35.2% shooting from the floor which was the big reason for the win.  DeMarcus Cousins (18 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocked shots), Francisco Garcia (16 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals and 3 blocked shots) and Samuel Dalembert (16 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots) led the way for the Kings last night.  Donte Greene (15 points), Marcus Thornton (15 points) and Beno Udrih (12 points) also pitched in for the Kings last night.  The Kings are now 19-52 on the year.

The Kings outrebounded the Bucks 47-32 which was the biggest reason for nthe win last night.  Marcus Thornton (27 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 blocked shot) and Beno Udrih (25 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal) led the way for the Kings last night.  DeMarcus Cousins (13 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Samuel Dalembert (11 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots) also pitched in for the Kings last night.  The Kings are now 18-52 on the year.

Chicago Bulls 132, Sacramento Kings 92

The Kings didn’t play any D at all last night as the Bulls shot 61.3% from the floor and that explains the beating they took in Chicago last night.  Marcus  Thornton led the way for the Kings last night with 25 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.  Beno Udrih also had a solid game with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.  Francisco Garcia (12 points) and DeMarcus Cousins (11 points) also had solid games for the Kings last night.  The Kings are now 17-52 on the year.

Sacramento Kings 127, Minnesota Timberwolves 95

The Kings shot 56% from the floor and they outrebounded the Timberwolves 47-27 on there way to a surprisingly easy victory.  They outscored the T-Wolves 42-20 in the 4th quarter to push them under the bus even further.  Samuel Dalembert led the way for the Kings in this game with 26 points, 17 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.  Marcus Thornton (23 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists) and Beno Udrih (19 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals) also had solid games for the Kings last night.  Pooh Jeter and Donte Greene pitched in with 13 points apiece last night.  The Kings are now 17-51 on the year.

The Sacramento Kings release Luther Head

The Sacramento Kings have released 28-year old shooting guard Luther Head.  Head played in 36 games (14 starts) for the Kings this season and he averaged 16.3 minutes, 5.6 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.   Head shot 41.5% from the floor, 39.1% from the three point line and 78% from the free throw line.  The Kings wanted to go with younger players at guard the rest of the year which led to Head’s release.

The Kings only shot 35.4% from the floor last night and they were down 80-54 after the first three quarters before the Sixers called off the dogs.  DeMarcus Cousins led the way for the Kings last night with 19 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal.  Omri Casspi (14 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists in 25 minutes) and Beno Udrih (13 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal) also pitched in for the Kings last night.  The Kings are now 16-51 on the year.
