Paul Westphal might be running out of time for the Sacramento Kings

60-year old head coach Paul Westphal hasn’t done too good of a job with the Kings as they were 24-58 (29.3%) in 2010-11.  The Kings are now 49-115 (29.9%) in Westphal’s two years on the job and that just isn’t good enough to get the job done.  He will likely get the 2011-12 season to turn things around or he will likely be gone.  He has a 316-274 (53.6%) career record during the regular season and he is 27-22 (55.1%) in the playoffs, so he used to be a good coach.

Tyreke Evans took a backwards step in his second year with the Sacramento Kings

21-year old shooting guard Tyreke Evans was the NBA Rookie of the Year for the Kings in the 2009-2010 season.  Injuries to his feet really hamstrung him this season as he wasn’t likely 100% at any time of the year.  Evans played in 57 games (53 starts) for the Kings last year and he averaged 37.0 minutes, 17.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game.  He has now played in 129 games (125 starts) in his first two years with the Kings and he has averaged 37.1 minutes, 19.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game.  I think Evans is going to rebound with a big season in 2011-12, due to him likely being well rested and healthy.
