The Sacramento Kings will be without Chuck Hayes for a few weeks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Need to step up by admin on Friday 6 January 2012 at 2:33 pm

The Kings will be without starting power forward Chuck Hayes for the next 3-4 weeks due to a dislocated shoulder.  He has played in 8 games (all starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 25.4 minutes, 5.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.  J.J. Hickson will likely benefit the most from Hayes’ injury.  Hickson has played in 8 games (3 starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 22.1 minutes, 6.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.  Hickson might not give Hayes his job back.

The Sacramento Kings will be without Tyreke Evans for at least the next 3 weeks

Blogged under Big Kings News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Need to step up by admin on Tuesday 22 February 2011 at 10:07 pm

The Sacramento Kings will be without 21-year old shooting guard Tyreke Evans at least the next three weeks as he is getting therapy on a injured foot.  Evans has played in 46 games (all starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 37.8 minutes, 18.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game.  He has been banged up all season long so it’s no surprise that he’s going to miss more time due to his foot.  24-year old Jermaine Taylor and 23-year old Donte Greene will likely see bumps in P.T. as long as Evans is out of action.  Taylor has played in 10 games (2 starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 13.2 minutes, 5.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.  Donte Greene has played in 45 (20 starts) for the Kings this season and he is averaging 17.0 minutes, 6.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.  The Kings need Taylor & Greene to step up as Evans is the best player the Kings have.

The Sacramento Kings will be without Francisco Garcia for a while

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by admin on Friday 21 January 2011 at 9:20 pm

The Kings will be without 29-year old SG Francisco Garcia for the next couple of weeks due to a left calf strain.  Garcia has played in 35 games (12 starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 23.3 minutes, 9.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.  The Kings will miss Garcia while he’s out of action as he is a decent offensive player unless someone steps up.  Only time will tell if someone does indeed step up while Garcia is out of action.

The Sacramento Kings lose Jason Thompson for a while

Blogged under Big Kings News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by admin on Sunday 19 December 2010 at 4:07 am

The Kings will be without power forward Jason Thompson for the next three games due to a finger injury that required several stitches.  Thompson has played in 23 games (11 starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 20.3 minutes, 7.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.  Carl Landry will get his starting job back until Thompson is ready to return to action.  Landry has played in 24 games (14 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 26.9 minutes, 11.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.  Landry will likely do a good job while Thompson is out of action but I don’t think he will get his starting job back from him.

The Sacramento Kings will be without Tyreke Evans for a few games

Blogged under Big Kings News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Need to step up by admin on Tuesday 14 December 2010 at 12:17 am

The Kings will likely be without starting shooting guard Tyreke Evans for the next three games due to plantar fasciitis.  Evans has played in 20 games (all starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 35.8 minutes, 16.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game.  The Kings will need Francisco Garcia and Luther Head to step up while Evans is out of action.  Garcia has played in 19 games (1 starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 20.1 minutes, 7.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.  Head has played in 18 games (8 starts) for the Kings so far this year and he is averaging 18.9 minutes, 6.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.  Evans’ play was starting to suffer because of his injury so giving him some time off is both in his best interest as well as the Kings’ best interest.

The Sacramento Kings lose Samuel Dalembert for a while

Blogged under Big Kings News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Thursday 14 October 2010 at 11:43 am

The Kings will be without starting center Samuel Dalembert for the next 4-6 weeks due to a groin injury. Rookie DeMarcus Cousins will replace Dalembert as the starting center until he’s ready to return to action. Jason Thompson will be the top backup at both power forward and center until Dalembert is ready to return to action. At least the Kings have quality depth along the front line to withstand this kind of injury but they will be better when Dalembert is healthy.

The Sacramento Kings shut down Spencer Hawes

Blogged under Big Kings News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Friday 2 April 2010 at 1:51 pm

The Kings have shut down 21-year old center Spencer Hawes for the rest of the season due to a knee problem. Hawes played in 72 games (59 starts) for the Kings this season and he averaged 26.4 minutes, 10.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 blocked shots per game. Hawes got into Coach Westphal’s Dog House early in the year and he never truly got out of it.

The Sacramento Kings lose Dominic McGuire for the year

Blogged under Big Kings News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Monday 29 March 2010 at 5:40 pm

The Kings have lost Dominic McGuire for the year due to a tear of the plantar fascia in his right foot. McGuire played in 9 games (1 start) for the Kings this season and he averaged 7.0 minutes, 0.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. The Kings shouldn’t miss McGuire too much as he didn’t play that well for them after coming over from the Wizards at the trade deadline.

The Sacramento Kings lose Jason Thompson

Blogged under Big Kings News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Friday 26 February 2010 at 5:22 pm

The Kings have lost center Jason Thompson for at least the next two weeks with 2 non-displaced transverse process fractures in his lower back. Thompson has played in 55 games (50 starts) for the Kings this season and he is averaging 32.0 minutes, 12.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 blocked shots per game. This hurts the Kings bad as Spencer Hawes is in Coach Westphal’s Dog House and even Thompson’s injury might not be enough to get him out of it.

The Sacramento Kings lose Jon Brockman

Blogged under Big Kings News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Rookie Report by alleyoop on Monday 22 February 2010 at 8:13 am

The Kings will be without rookie forward Jon Brockman for the next 2-4 weeks due to a sprained MCL in his right knee. Brockman has played in 44 games (4 starts) for the Kings this season and he is averaging 13.6 minutes, 3.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. The Kings are going to miss Brockman a little bit as he brings good effort and rebounding off the bench.
